Profile Charles joined GOUGH from the English Bar in 2002 and qualified as a Manx Advocate in 2004. His practice is 90% contentious High Court litigation and he has acted successfully for Plaintiffs in a number of actions against Financial Services Providers in substantial breach of mandate and negligence claims. Charles also has extensive experience of complex contentious trust disputes having appeared before the Staff of Government Division (Appeal Court) in Schmidt v Rosewood and has also appeared before the Privy Council in relation to complex tax model product litigation. Charles has experience of advising liquidators in claims against former Directors and has successfully defended Directors in negligence claims brought by liquidators.
