In an unprecedented leave of absence Alan Gough was not in the office or the Courts during August 2009.
He took the month off to bring his boat "Recluse" to its home port in Douglas from Palma, Majorca.
The Selene 'Trawler' was delivered after it featured in the Cannes Boat Show in September last year (somewhat dwarfed among the super-yachts) and has spent the winter in the gentle climate of San Remo, Italy.
The first leg of the journey home saw Recluse on a passage to Palma, via Calvi in Corsica, where bad weather kept her in the Bay of Calvi for a few days.
The passage home took Recluse through the Straits of Gibraltar, up the Portuguese Atlantic Coast and across the Bay of Biscay before tackling the busy English Channel and then on the home stretch to Douglas.
