Rebrand and new website
For any organisation, moving away from a well known and developed brand identity is a major decision. Gough & Co, formed by Alan Gough in 1976, has rebranded itself to reflect the international flavour of the services it provides to clients and its position in the modern legal marketplace. With advice and assistance from Home Strategic, the rebranded firm now practices under the style of GOUGH Advocates. Managing Partner Paul Kerruish explains the reasoning behind this bold move.
‘As our local and international markets change, it is important we maintain our innovative approach to communication with our clients. Whilst rebranding was a major decision, it was also a very necessary one. The changes are subtle yet quite striking in appearance. To better reflect our ever more diverse market, we have created an international city style that better positions our core offerings. To help us achieve our objectives, and to offer a fresh and impartial view, we called on local strategic marketing and design specialists, Home Strategic. Together we held a series of in-depth brand strategy reviews with key stakeholders of our business and jointly developed a long term strategic repositioning of our brand and core brand values. The brand has been rolled out across all communication materials with particular emphasis on the new, highly impressive and informative website, one of our core communication channels.'
Embracing change and demonstrating innovation at every opportunity, the rebranding is just one aspect of the changes at GOUGH. The rebranding coincides with the expansion in 2008 of GOUGH's litigation department into modern bespoke offices at Level 4 Anglo International House and the recruitment of additional lawyers Mark Holligon, Stephen Mann and Rachel Jepson. The existing offices at Level 5 Anglo International House are undergoing full modernisation to house the corporate and commercial and private client departments and the new image will reflect the streamlined international face of this boutique firm, which deals principally with offshore commercial law and high-powered litigation solutions.
The simplification of the name to GOUGH also follows the modern minimalist trend. The firm has embraced hi-tech systems including the much acclaimed Seneca computerised practice management system.
Overall, with the modernised offices, new faces and hi-tech approach to the law, GOUGH promises to enhance its cutting edge approach to 21st century offshore legal challenges.
Founding Partner, Alan Gough, comments "I am very pleased to see the firm evolving in this way, as one of the consistent aims in my career has been to provide modern and innovative solutions and service to my clients."
